Western Michigan University

Established in 1903, Western Michigan University is a public research university located in Kalamazoo, Michigan. It was initially found as a teacher training facility and got its current name and university status in 1957. It is marked in the 185 high research intensity universities. 

The university has a total of five campuses including- West Campus, East Campus, Oakland Drive Campus, Parkview Campus, and the College of Aviation in Battle Creek, Michigan. Its campuses cover a total area of 1200 acres. West campus is marked as the main campus of the university and houses most of the university's academic and administrative buildings. 

The university has excellent academic and research facilities. It also offers around 100 study abroad programs in more than 40 countries. The university has received  $25.4 million in research grants. The university is known for its Sales School which is ranked among the top schools in the USA. It also offers exceptional aviation, jazz, marketing, and business programs. 

WMU has over 400 student organizations and social groups that conduct student activities at the university. Health and fitness facilities are also offered at various campuses.  The university’s location in Kalamazoo is an advantage for the students as it is marked among the top 20 best college towns in the USA.
