Valparaiso University

Valparaiso University (Valpo) is a private university in Valparaiso, Indiana. The university campus is set on more than 350 acres and is home to over 60 academics and residential buildings. 

The Center for the Arts building includes a 275-seat theatre, 170-seat recital hall, and the Brauer Museum of Art. The university library, Christopher Center for Library and Information Resources, stores 600,000 volumes and offers 180 public computers. The James S. Markiewicz Solar Energy Research Facility is the only undergraduate institution in the US with a solar furnace.

The University has 9 residence Halls and apartments, and 7 fraternity houses to live on campus. The student union of Valpo called Harre Student Union is the hub of student life and offers space for recreation and meetings as well as a computer lab, bookstore, career center, and two dining options at Founders Table and the Campus Cafe. There are 100+ student clubs or organizations, 10 fraternities, and 7 sororities for you to explore and get involved in. 

There are 10 men’s and 11 women’s NCAA Division I varsity sports teams in the Missouri Valley Conference and Summit League. Valpo’s athletic facilities include four gyms, an indoor track and pool, racquetball courts, and a fitness center offering cardio machines and weights.
