University of Utah

The University of Utah is a public research university located in Salt Lake City, Utah. It was established in 1850 as the University of Deseret and is Utah’s oldest institute of higher education. It got its current name in the year 1892. The university campus is spread over an area of 1,534 acres and includes its Health Sciences complex, Research Park, and Fort Douglas. The university also has a Global Campus in South Korea.

The university academia in different disciplines is marked among the best faculties in the nation. The departments of Ballet, Biology, Computer Science, Dentistry, Law, Medicine, Pharmacology, and Political Science have made great contributions in their respective areas. The university also has a special health care system which includes four hospitals, including the University of Utah Hospital and Huntsman Cancer Institute, along with twelve community clinics and specialty centers such as the Moran Eye Center.

In order to facilitate academic education, the university has four libraries including the main library, music, law, and health sciences libraries. The university also has its own broadcasting center, television newscast, and a newspaper called Chrony. 

The university has a great inclination toward research activities and has received $547 million in grants recently. Moreover, the university is ranked No. 1 in America for technology commercialization.
