The University of South Carolina which is also known as USC is a public research university in Columbia, South Carolina. The university's main campus sits atop a 359-acre land in Downtown Columbia near South Carolina State House. In addition to its main campus, USC has 7 satellite campuses spread across the state.
USC offers more than 350 bachelors, masters, and doctoral programs through its 14 schools and colleges. It was also awarded a record amount of $230.2 million in research funding in the fiscal year 2014.
It has over 400 student organizations on campus, providing numerous options to make new friends with common interests. The university is also home to over 2 dozen residence halls and 20 restaurants with dining options that include healthy menus from local produce.
The University of South Carolina hosts a number of music concerts, theatre and dance events, productions, and art exhibitions and other events. It also offers club, intramural, and varsity sports through its 19 varsity sports teams.
