The University of Massachusetts Boston (UMass Boston) is a public research university in Boston, Massachusetts. The scenic waterfront campus, with easy access to downtown Boston, is located next to the John F. Kennedy Library and Presidential Museum and is the third-largest among the five campuses of the University of Massachusetts System.

UMass Boston is nationally recognized as a model of excellence for urban public universities. It has 10 schools and colleges that offer 79 undergraduate and 114 graduate programs and has a faculty of 1,243 of which, 210 are non-tenure track and 182 are tenure-track professors. 93% of full-time faculty hold the highest degree in their fields.

The Division of Athletics and Recreation, Special Projects, and Programs at UMass Boston provides a wide array of athletic and recreational opportunities for students, alumni, faculty, and staff. There are more than 100 student organizations including clubs, literary magazines, a newspaper (The Mass Media), a radio station (WUMB 91.9 FM), an art gallery, and 16 NCAA Division III sports teams that offer a rich campus life.
