University of Massachusetts, Amherst

The University of Massachusetts Amherst which is also known as UMass Amherst is a public research land-grant university that is located in Amherst town in Massachusetts state in the US. It was initially founded in 1863 as the Massachusetts Agricultural College and adopted its current name in 1847. It is the flagship campus of the University of Massachusetts campus. 

UMass Amherst sits atop a scenic 1,450-acre campus in the Pioneer Valley of Western Massachusetts which is just 90 miles from Boston and 175 miles from New York City. The campus provides a cultural environment amidst a rural setting that is close to urban cities. The university has over 1,400 full-time professors and houses over 31,350 students.
