Established in 1864, the University of Denver (DU) is a private university located in Denver, Colorado. It is an institution built on exploration through research and collaboration among educators, students, and local and global communities.
The main campus of the university is spread across an area of 125-acres and is a designated arboretum, located primarily in the University Neighborhood. The university offers a range of bachelor's, master's, certificate, and doctoral programs.
The university has numerous research centers and institutes that revolve around socially relevant issues and mainly address the complex problems associated with aging, nation-building, and early childhood education. Its global-reaching centers provide policy insights for Peru and South Africa and promote intellectual exchange between the U.S. and China.
The university houses over 100 student clubs and organizations. On the athletics front, DU is home to winners of 33 NCAA national championships. It offers more than 30 different club sports, from baseball to ultimate frisbee to kayaking. The Coors Fitness Centre at the university offers several sports and wellness facilities to the students.
