University of Cincinnati

The University of Cincinnati is a public research university located in Cincinnati, Ohio. Initially founded as Cincinnati College in 1819, it is the oldest higher education institute in Cincinnati and is the second-largest university in Ohio. 

The university covers a total area of 463-acres and is divided into Uptown and regional campuses. Uptown includes 3 campuses - West, Medical, and Victory Parkway Campus. It also provides off-campus facilities. The university is home to students from more than 114 countries.

The University of Cincinnati focuses on major research areas including science, medicine, business, education, engineering, and the arts. The university has been a pioneer in the area of medical research and its scientists invented the world's first electronic organ, antihistamine, the heart-lung machine, and the oral polio vaccine.

The university has 14 libraries that hold over 4 million books. Along with the academic facilities, the university has over 550 student organizations. Also, the university has several media outlets for students. It has a student-run newspaper called The News Record, a student-run radio station as well as a television station. The university also provides exceptional athletic facilities and competes in 19 Division I (NCAA) sports.
