University of California, Berkeley

The University of California, Berkeley, also known as UC Berkeley, is a public research university located in Berkeley city of California state. It was initially founded in 1868 and is the flagship campus and the oldest campus in the University of California System. The University of California, Berkeley is considered one of the top universities globally for its contribution to the world of education and the United States.

UC Berkeley is a large residential tier one research university that offers 106 bachelor’s degrees, 88 master’s degrees, 97 research-focused doctoral programs, and 31 professionally-focused graduate programs through its 14 colleges and schools. 

The university’s campus sits atop a 1232-acre land surrounded by the downtown business district of Berkeley to the West; a commercial district called the Gourmet Ghetto to the northwest, and a residential neighborhood to the north.
