University of Arkansas

The University of Arkansas (UA) is a public land-grant, research university spread across 512 acres in Fayetteville, Arkansas. The university campus, consisting of 378 buildings, comprises 10 colleges and offers more than 200 academic programs.

There are more than 20 residence halls available for you to live on campus. University recreation serves students, faculty and the university community by providing a diverse selection of recreational opportunities and facilities, which are designed to enhance the quality of life for each participant. The facilities include an Olympic-sized swimming pool, fitness rooms, bike repair, a rock-climbing wall, racquetball courts, and outdoor equipment rental.

The university?????????:?????????s research is focused on six broad areas that include Health, Nanotechnology, Energy and Environment, Art, Architecture and Humanities, Food safety, and Supply Chain, Retail and Transportation. UA awards $85 million in financial assistance and scholarships each year to students based on merit and need.

Arkansas athletic teams are known as Hogs and their mascot is the Razorback. The school competes in the Southeastern Conference (SEC) in Division I of the NCAA. There are over 350 registered student organizations on campus including special interest, religious, international and cultural organizations, honorary and professional service groups, and more.
