The University of Buffalo- SUNY is a public research university located in New York. It has three campuses in Buffalo and Amherst- North, South, and Downtown Campus. It is the flagship campus of the SUNY system and is the largest public university in New York.
The university offers over 100 bachelor's, 205 master's, 84 doctoral, and 10 professional areas of study in its 13 schools and colleges. The University of Buffalo houses two New York State Centers of Excellence - Center of Excellence in Bioinformatics and Life Sciences and Center of Excellence in Materials Informatics. The university has an annual research expenditure of around $401 million. The University at Buffalo is also one of only two public schools in New York to have a medical school and a dental school.
The university has nine libraries and houses more than 3.8 million print volumes augmented by extensive digital resources, including full-text electronic journals, databases, media, and special collections.
The North Campus is known to be the main campus of the university and covers 1,192 acres of land featuring 146 buildings. Along with the academic facilities, it also offers a variety of entertainment programming and activity for students. It contains the Student Union, which houses offices for the Student Association and student-interest clubs
The University is located on a 1,350-acre, urban campus in Buffalo (population: 259,384). Served by air, bus, and train. School operates transportation between north and south campuses.
