The University of Vermont

Established in 1791, the University of Vermont (UVM) is a Public Ivy and top research university located in Burlington, Vermont. The university was the fifth institution to be established in New England. Moreover, adding to its diverse multicultural environment, it was the first university to enroll students irrespective of their gender and religious background.

The university is spread over a 460-acre campus. It provides several facilities to its students including a STEM complex, Lakeside Rubenstein Ecosystem Science, Stafford Center for Microbiology and Molecular Genetics, an on-campus medical center and 10 natural areas. The university also has two libraries, the main library and the medical library.

Over 86% of the university students get involved in a club or a co-curricular activity. The university has over 210 student clubs and organizations, including a nationally recognized debate team and a student-run newspaper, radio station, TV station, rescue squad, legal services and many more academic, artistic, musical, cultural, ethnic, political, and religious clubs.

Burlington is a metropolitan and the largest city of Vermont. It provides easy access to major cities like Boston and Montreal. It is home to large local employers including Global Foundries, GE Healthcare, Keurig Green Mountain, Seventh Generation, among others.
