The University of Texas, Austin

The University of Texas at Austin which is also known as UT Austin is a public research university that is located in the capital city of Austin in Texas state. It was initially founded in 1881 and has its roots dating back to as old as 1827. However, it has adopted its current name in 1967 only. It offers over 12,000 courses, 156 undergraduate degree programs, and 237 graduate degree programs. 

The university sits atop a total of 1,438.5-acre land, of which the main campus comprises 423.5 acres of land and has over 150 buildings. One of the most prominent buildings on the campus is the Beaux-Arts Main Building and its 307-foot tower. Like any other world-class university, UT Austin campuses also has state-of-the-art facilities like fully equipped laboratories and much more

The university is also renowned for its research facilities and capabilities. It has earned over 300 patents so far since 2003. Its research is largely focused on engineering and physical sciences and also has a world-leading research institute in computer science. 

The university was founded to achieve excellence in interrelated areas of undergraduate, and graduate education, research, and public services.
