Established in 1947, Texas A&M University is a public university in Corpus Christi, Texas. It is a part of the Texas A&M University System. It is home to students from more than 57 countries. Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi is committed to becoming one of the leading centers of higher education in the Gulf of Mexico region while serving the intellectual, cultural, social, environmental, and economic needs of South Texas.
Texas A&M-Corpus Christi offers 47 undergraduate majors, 30 graduate programs, and 9 doctoral programs. The university’s Harte Research Institute is also involved in various projects and programs related to the ocean. It works towards the long-term sustainable use and conservation of the Gulf of Mexico.
The university has around 150 student organizations that fit into three categories: Sports clubs, Greek Life, and University Center Student Orgs. The university participates in 16 NCAA DIVISION I Sports.
It is the only university in the nation located on its own island, at the heart of the Texas Gulf Coast. With palm tree-lined pathways throughout the campus, nearby natural wetlands, a scenic hike-and-bike trail, and a pristine view of the beach and bays. Corpus Christi is home to multiple outdoor activities including Beach to Bay relay marathon, Conquer the Coast cycling event, and several other festivals. With such an environment, the students will always have something to do during the course of their stay.
