Established in 1904, Oklahoma City University (OCU) is a private university historically located in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. It was founded as Epworth University by local developer Anton Classen in the early 1900s. It is affiliated with the United Methodist Church.
OCU campus is spread across an area of 104-acres. It resides in the heart of Oklahoma City, just minutes from a diverse range of educational, social, cultural, and recreational opportunities. The university offers 70 bachelor's degrees, 20 master's degrees, and 2 doctoral degrees in the liberal arts and sciences including music, business, nursing, TESOL, biology, computer science, and film production. It is home to students from more than 43 countries.
The university has more than 80 student-led organizations. Focuses of these organizations range from ethnic to political, religious to special interest. The university promotes cultural enrichment and entertainment on the OCU campus which includes concerts, play performances, operas, films, sporting events, and seminars by world-renowned speakers and business leaders. The university has its own student-run newspaper, radio station, and magazines.
