North Carolina State university, Raleigh

NC State University, founded in 1887, is a public research university on a 2,099-acre campus in Raleigh, North Carolina. The college began as Land Grant College in the fields of agriculture and engineering. Today, the university consists of 12 colleges, 65 academic departments, and over 300 undergraduate and graduate programs. Doctoral degrees in 61 fields, a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine, and master's degrees in 104 fields are available at the graduate school. 

NC State is the state's largest four-year university. Engineering, Biology, and Business are some of the university's popular majors. The university is well-known around the world for its technological, scientific, engineering, and mathematical leadership. The university campus consists of about 75 research centers, laboratories, institutes, etc. NC State also started a University Sustainability Office to address environmental concerns on campus, which is a noble cause. 

There are over 600 student organizations at the university where students can pursue interests other than academics. Students at NC State are encouraged to gain on-the-job experience, and they are also permitted to alternate semesters between working and studying and earning academic credit. Annually, the university awards more than $17 million in undergraduate scholarships, which include tuition and park scholarships. NC State research has resulted in more than 100 startups, which have cumulatively raised $1.7 billion in venture capital.

The University is located on a 2,090-acre, urban campus in Raleigh (population: 431,746). Served by air, bus, and train. School operates transportation around campus and to surrounding apartments and neighborhoods.
