Missouri University of Science and Technology

Missouri University of Science & Technology or Missouri S&T is a public land and space grant university located in Rolla, Missouri. It was established in 1870 as the Missouri School of Mines and Metallurgy and got its current name in 2008. It is a member of the University of Missouri System. The university offers courses in the fields of engineering, business, mathematics, and sciences. The prime focus of the studies at the university in engineering. 

The university campus houses Stonehenge, Millennium Arch, Solar Village, Nuclear Reactor, Experimental Mine, and Electromagnetic Compatibility Laboratory, among other structures which provide state-of-the-art facilities for conducting research in different disciplines of engineering. The university also has a library with a lot of books related to education and research at the university.

The university research is focused on advanced manufacturing, advanced materials for sustainable infrastructure, energy, and the environment, materials for extreme environments, and smart living. The university is home to 18 design teams that give students the opportunity to develop their problem-solving, teamwork, and business skills while designing and building race cars, robots, rockets, rovers, and more. Missouri S&T has been awarded a research funding of $49.8M in 2019. 

Over 250 student organizations are a part of the university providing facilities for all kinds of activities including longboarding, running, spelunking, barbecuing or blacksmithing, etc. The university also has 15 NCAA Division II varsity athletic teams. Moreover, established in 2010, Missouri S&T’s Celebration of Nations is one of the largest international festivals in Ozarks, Missouri.
