Missouri State University

Founded in 1905 as the Fourth District Normal School, Missouri State University is a public university located in Springfield, Missouri. With a sequence of name changes, the university got its current name in 2005. It is the second-largest university in Missouri due to the number of student enrollments. The university provides a student-centered learning environment and excellent teaching that promotes academic success and personal development. 

The university has campuses in Springfield and West Plains in Missouri. It also provides a few courses at Liaoning Normal University in China. The university has a fruit research station in Mountain Grove, Missouri, and the Department of Defense and Strategic Studies program in Fairfax, Virginia.

The university’s main campus is spread across an area of 225 acres in central Springfield and contains over 40 buildings. This campus has a library that is home to more than  877,000 books and many periodicals and e-books. The campus also houses several residential halls and a hall of performing arts. The athletic facilities at the campus include a huge sports complex that has an artificial playing surface, an all-weather track, the second level of seating, twelve racquetball courts, men's and women's locker rooms, five classrooms, and a fitness center.

This campus also houses Innovation, Design, Entrepreneurship, and Art (IDEA) Commons which is a unique research park. It also has a center for agricultural research. 

For co-curricular engagements, the Springfield campus has 300 student organizations involved in different activities. The campus also has a student-run newspaper, a radio station, and public television. The university has 17 NCAA Division I intercollegiate athletic teams in men's and women's.
