Indiana University Bloomington was established in 1820 in Bloomington, Indiana and it is the flagship campus of Indiana Public University’s seven campuses and two regional centers. It is one of the topmost universities in the US and has the largest campus with over 40,000 students.
The university offers more than 1000 programs in engineering, sciences, business, health & wellness, public services, and arts & culture. The university also provides “engaged learning” opportunities which include creative and research activities, internships, and local and global communities which play an important part in students’ success.
The university has more than 750 student organizations, it also has sports and recreational facilities where students have access to state-of-the-art fitness and athletic facilities. It also has the largest worldwide and notable alumni network of more than 725000 Indiana university graduates. Some of the well-known aluminas include Bob Chapek who is the CEO of the Walt Disney Company, neuroanatomist, and author of the book Stroke of Insight, Jill Bolte, and Jimmy Wales, the co-founder of Wikipedia.
The University is located on a 1,937-acre campus in Bloomington (population: 82,575), 55 miles from Indianpolis; branch campuses in Fort Wayne, Gary, Indianapolis, Kokomo, New Albany, Richmond, and South Bend. Served by bus; major airport and train serve Indianapolis (50 miles).
