Ferris State University

Ferris State University, also known as Ferris or FSU, is a public research university with its main campus in the Big Rapids city of Michigan state. It was initially founded in 1884 as Big Rapids Industrial School and adopted its current name and status in 1987. It is the 9th largest university in Michigan state with over 14,000 students. 

Its main campus is located on the southern edge of the Big Rapids city on an 880-acre land. The campus is within walking distance and is accessible to all shops, restaurants, movie theatres, art galleries, and many more. In addition to its main campus, FSU has over 19 off-campus locations in more urban communities throughout the city. 

The university is known for fostering a diverse and inclusive campus community, providing international experiential learning opportunities, professional development opportunities, and on-campus global events and activities.
