California State University, Fresno

California State University, Fresno which is also known as the Fresno State is a public university located in the Fresno city of California State. It was founded in 1911 and is one of the universities among the 24 California State University systems. It offers 60 bachelor’s, 45 masters, 3 doctoral degrees, 12 certificates of advanced study, and 2 different teaching credentials.  Carnegie Classification has classified the university as a doctoral university with moderate research activity. 

The university’s main campus sits atop a 388-acre that features more than 46 traditional and modern buildings. It also has a 1,011-acre land that houses the University Agricultural Laboratory (The farm) and is used for agronomic and horticulture crops, swine, poultry, and sheep units, as well as several hundred acres of cattle rangeland. The university also consists of over 3,200 trees for research and educational purpose. 

Apart from its academic excellence, the university is also known for maintaining some of the most unique facilities. The facilities include an on-campus planetarium for educational and entertainment purposes, a horse riding team and facilities, an on-campus raisin and wine grape vineyard, and a commercial winery. Interestingly, its student-made wine has won over 300 awards since 1997.  The university also possesses a 50,000 square foot recreation center and the third-largest library in the University of California system.
