Arizona State University (ASU) is a public metropolitan research university. ASU is one of the largest public universities by enrollment in the U.S. The university is organized into 17 colleges, featuring more than 170 cross-discipline centers and institutes. ASU offers 350-degree programs for undergraduates students and 400 graduate degree and certificate programs.
The university's academic programs are spread across four distinct campuses - Tempe campus, West campus, Polytechnic campus, and the Downtown Phoenix campus. Apart from traditional face-to-face programs, it offers more than 150 undergraduate and graduate degree programs online.
Tempe campus is in downtown Tempe, Arizona, about 13 km away from the east of downtown Phoenix. Set in a 660-acres estate, the Tempe campus is the largest of all ASU's campuses, with more than 70,000 students enrolled in at least one class on campus. The campus is home to Charles Trumbull Hayden Library, the University Club building, and Margaret Gisolo Dance Theatre.
The Tempe campus is also home to all of the university's athletic facilities. With an unrivaled commitment to sustainability, the Tempe campus is the most solar-powered in the U.S. It offers easy access to all of metropolitan Phoenix through public transit.
The University is located on a 592-acre campus in Tempe (population: 168,228).
