American University

The American University or AU is a private research university in Washington, D.C. It was initially founded in 1893 to promote public service, internationalism, and pragmatic idealism. The university offers over 160 programs which include 71 bachelors, 87 masters, and 10 doctoral degrees in addition to its JD, SJD, and LLM programs.

The University is located on a 84-acre, suburban campus in northwest Washington, DC (population: 658,893); branch campuses in Spring Valley (law school) and Tenleytown (Washington Semester program).
