About Boise State University
Boise State University (BSU) is a public research university in Boise, Idaho. Founded in 1932 by the Episcopal Church, it became an independent junior college in 1934, and has been awarding baccalaureate and master's degrees since 1965.Boise State University is located in the capital of Idaho, in the western part of the state. Boise State students can choose from about 170 academic programs, including several master’s degrees in fields such as business, education, and art. A few of Boise State’s unique academic features include the nation’s only degree in raptor biology, through which students research birds of prey, and a partnership with the U.S. Air Force Research Laboratory, which serves as a great resource for studying microelectronics.Our metropolitan campus runs along the banks of the Boise River, just a quick walk from the heart of Idaho’s largest city.
