About The University

Northumbria University is one of the oldest universities found in 1880 and gained university status in 1992. The university has three campuses - City Campus, Coachlane Campus and London Campus. The City campus located in Newcastle upon Tyne is further divided into City Campus East and City Campus West and is connected by a £4 million bridge. The award-winning, City Campus East opened in 2007 is home for the Newcastle Business School (NBS), The School of Law and The School of Design. The City Campus West is home for the School of Arts and Social Sciences, Computing, Engineering & Information Sciences, Built & Natural Environment, and Life Sciences. The city Campus also houses the University’s Library, Student Union Building and the Sports Centre. The Coach Lane Campus is located on Coach Lane that is around 4km away from Newcastle. This Campus is home for School of Health, Community and Education Studies.
